Lessons In The Ladder Days

God's Invitation To Chanukah

Candace Long

This episode was inspired by the time-sensitive reality that on December 25th, 2024, BOTH Christmas and Chanukah fall on the same day!  As someone who has walked with the Lord for more than 50 years AND been Torah observant for close to 20 of those years, I believe it matters to God which tradition you choose to celebrate...and why.

If you have felt led to reconnect with our Jewish roots and learn more about God's ways, it struck me that you might be conflicted being caught up in the Christmas frenzy - after all, that's all you've ever known.  There is an alternative – a very important one. This episode invites you to learn what Chanukah is all about, and why it matters to God.

Here's What You'll Learn:

  • Five (5) unknown facts about Chanukah that most Christians don't know.
  • Why followers of Jesus should reflect on which (Christmas or Chanukah) is more biblical.
  • The backstory of why Christians have historically dismissed Chanukah.
  • Where the festival of Chanukah came from and why it is so important to God.
  • How the danger of Hellenism finds its way into this season.
  • Why more believers today relate to the Maccabees whom God raised up before the first coming of Messiah.
  • What celebrating Chanukah entails.
  • My life-changing experience in 2021 learning to celebrate Chanukah.
  • How to be a follower of Jesus and celebrate Chanukah.
